At first there was a graphical glitch with the program & Macs, but the Dev quickly fixed & patched the game. Graphics and UI are fine for this type of game, and for the low price I expect it will provide many hours of fun when I want to fire it up for some quick & relaxing games of Crawlin’ for those Cards.---------------update:Jan 1, 2019.I would still recommend this game for the price, but I just started playing Slay the Spire, and I doubt very much that I will come back to this game. This game is sort of like a beginners version of Slay the Spire, and if you pick up Card Crawl during a sale you could play it for a few hours and have fun, and then you would probably want to upgrade to Spire & have even more fun.. Best smartphone game of all time. Waiting for the other 3 2 - Card Thief & Miracle Merchant.. https://youtu.be/IPZxJ_dJvB0This bite size card themed dungeon crawling semi-puzzle game takes a simple mechanic and gives life with a colorful world. Unlocks are a bit slow to see everything it has to offer.. I bought this game with the intention of completing all of its achievements, and unfortunately that will be influencing my review. I wanted to wait until I was finished the achievements, but my frustration with them is overflowing. The game is fine enough. A little light on content, even for what it is and the price it's at. The achievements add a bit to that though. The majority of them add a little challenge that isn't too unrealistic to accomplish. But then there's two of them that have me wanting to put my head through a wall. Winning a game with 250 gold, and getting to level 15 in Delve mode. I don't even really know where to begin with the 250 gold. I've gotten 178 I believe, and I had a really good run. I see that some people at least have this achievement though, which can't be said for the level 15 one. Delve mode is basically just consecutive games with random sets of ability cards each time, with each level requiring you to collect a certain amount of gold on top of winning to advance. When you lose, you go back down one level. This game has some level of skill required to understand what you need to do in certain situations, but more than that, you need luck. Good luck. Amazing luck. I've played this game for two full days now and have only gotten to level 14 ten times. Six of those times, I lost on the second turn. No options, no choice but to take enough damage to kill me, six times. Another three of those times I won without enough gold, which might actually be more frustrating, believe it or not. Only one time did I lose because I made a mistake, and even then, I probably didn't have enough gold to make it in the end. When I'm not struggling on level 14, I'm going up and down levels 9 through 13 for hours. It's not fun. Had I known completing this game would require this amount of luck based grinding, I wouldn't have bothered with it at all. Solitaire games are inherently luck based, and I understand that, but this is a ridiculous expectation for an achievement, in my opinion. I can't say for sure that I feel the same about the 250 gold one because I've spent much less time on it, but so far it's been frustrating as well.I can't recommend it. If you're just looking to play it casually, you won't be missing out on much. You can just as easily play it using a real deck of cards for cheaper. The presentation is nice, and the game has a charm to it, but I don't feel that it's enough, personally. If you're interested in completing the game, don't. It's become such an awful chore. I'm still going to continue trying, because it'll drive me nuts to leave it incomplete now, but I'm probably also going to go insane, so.... Card Crawl is a grindfest. Each 'game' of CQ takes about 5 minutes, maybe 10 if you play reaaaaally slowly. It's not difficult, and while that might change later on, you can't do ANYTHING but play the basic game for the first couple of hours until you win twenty times in a row. By then, you will have unlocked the daily quest, and the deckbuilder.I am not interested in playing the same, boring, monotonous matches twenty times just to finally unlock the real game. It's effectively a forced tutorial you can't skip. You could have unlocked all of the different modes from the start and allowed me to try out things I like, but you didn't.The game seemed fine, mechanically speaking. I'm just not interested in grinding for three hours before I finally get to actually have any fun.6/10.. Fun for what it is.. Very addictive and relaxing little card game. Hours of fun, especially once you begin expanding the deck.Highly recommended for the low asking price.Fingers crossed that Card Thief also comes to Steam!. Overall it's a very nice little card game for its price, but it could have been better if it had more playmodes or minigames.Graphics and music are easy and stylish.Gameplay is fun but pretty grindy and repetitive. You'd rather enjoy this game if you play short sessions of few minutes per day.No bugs encountered so far. When you just start playing for the first time you need to win 20 battles to be able to open other game menu options. Before I finished those 20 battles I thought that this game has few other (currently locked) playmodes which allow playing cards in a different way.No. This game has ONLY ONE PLAY MODE, but you can unlock more spell cards and choose the deck later in the game.. 4.2/5 Fantasy-themed no-character, single location, card battle game.Great mechanics, amusing graphics. Easy to start out, can get pretty hard near the end, requiring a fair amount of forethought and card counting to succeed. Really enjoyed it, hope to see more like it in the future. For fantasy card game mechanics lovers.. Great game, very inventive and addicting. Excellent production quality and design. Would highly recommend if you need a quick 15 - 20 minute diversion.
